Competitive winter league youth baseball

Burbank Players League is a non-denominational youth baseball league established in 1957. Registration opens each September, and team practice begins in the second week of November. Official games run from early January through March.  Schedule.

Who can play

Children 5 to 14 years of age in and around Burbank are given the opportunity to play competitive baseball. Newcomers are welcome, and there is limited space for non-Burbank players too. Learn more about signups.

Skill levels

After a “tryout”, each player is assessed for proficiency and is placed within the division that best suits their capability. Over the years, a child may progress through the following types of play:

  • T-Ball: ages 5-7, the youngest players hit the ball off a tee. They learn the rules of baseball.
  • C-Ball: ages 8-10, children pitch, and the players hone their skills.
  • B-Ball: ages 11-12, more advanced rules are permitted.
  • A-Ball: ages 13-14, is played on regulation fields and prepares youths for entry into the most competive high school baseball programs.

Facilities

Practices and games are scheduled through the City of Burbank Park and Recreation Sports Office.
